In 2014 my family took an 18-day trip to 20 states (in the shape of a heart across America). During this trip, we did 1,000 acts of kindness. And then, I wrote an ebook about it. Which you can find here.
Around this part of the trip, my husband must have been tired of being on the road lol, because he figured out how we could travel the maximum ammount of states in one day while still maintaining our heart shape course across america (and our acts of kindness in each state). So on day 10, we traveled through FOUR states!
It was a long day, but I still remember stopping at this little cheese shop and sampling all the cheese, it was so cute!
I remember standing on that random street in Kansas and holding up a sign that said, “You are beautiful.” I remember how wonderful it felt to see everyone’s reactions.
I remember that LONG drive.
I also remember we had to switch hotels that night because of a big party in the next room… it was a LONG day.

Here is the blog entry I wrote on day ten of our trip:
Yesterday was a big day.
We traveled through 4 states: Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and ended in Nebraska.
At the beginning of the day, it was mostly driving.
And we did stop and do some touristy things…
But my favorite part of yesterday, of course, were the acts of kindness. We stopped in Kansas City, Kansas where I stopped at the intersection of Troost Avenue and Meyer Road and held a simple handwritten sign. It said, “You are beautiful.”
I stood at the intersection for exactly 1 hour and only counted the cars that acknowledged me.I counted 346 cars.
It was great to see all the smiles, thumbs ups and people saying “thank you.”It was a beautiful day, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spread some love. After Kansas City, we had quite a bit more driving to do.We passed through Iowa. (You can see just how sleepy I am in the picture)Where I paid for a <random stranger’s> dinner. He was a lot happier about it than he looks in the picture 😉And then it was off to Lincoln, Nebraska where I am gearing up this morning for another day of kindness.Have a great day! Thanks always for reading,Kelly Airhart
